And you, what would you like to be when you grow up?
Will you be able to watch our video without getting emotional?
Giving care through personal stories,
engagement, and connection
At Envita, we’ve adopted a unique approach for the development of a person’s meaningful life plan that connects their personal history with their current and future life project. Our methodology focuses on identity, life experiences, achievements, and personal aspirations, encouraging active participation, building strong bonds, creating fulfilling activities, and honoring individual legacies. By concentrating on these features, Envita ensures a more compassionate, personalized, and holistic care experience that strengthens emotional connections.
Because we should never stop asking ourselves: What do you want to be when you grow up?
1. Evaluation Tool for the Relational Dimension of Long-Term Care in Collaboration with VIU (International University of Valencia)
In collaboration with the International University of Valencia (VIU), Envita is developing an evaluation tool aimed at assessing and enhancing the relational dimension of long-term care. This questionnaire, grounded in Person-Centered Care and narrative-based care practices, is designed for use in residential facilities, day centers, and home care services.
2. The largest clinical trial about the impact of the Envita Stories Methodology on older adults, families, and professionals.
We are conducting a groundbreaking study to empirically validate the impact of our methodology.
The research includes over 350 participants from care homes throughout Spain, involved in a 3-year investigation.
We are collaborating with the University of Santiago de Compostela (Applied Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychogerontology Research Group), the Galician Innovation Agency of the Xunta de Galicia, and DomusVi.
How Do We Do It?
By digitizing key person-centred care methodologies like life stories and personal life projects, we empower professional teams and families to incorporate each person’s biography into their care.
We drive cultural change in care centres through training on implementation and by introducing essential roles like the designated professional and support group. Throughout the rollout of our intervention methodology, we provide ongoing support and training to individuals, families, and care teams.
We offer resources to help launch and grow the intervention methodology. Our welcome pack for families includes resources such as a memory box, conversation journals, and conversation cards, with the idea of enriching the digital experience with tangible materials. And, of course, the Life Book.
We use validated tools to measure the impact of our intervention, grounded in Person-Centred Care and narrative-based care practices.
Our intervention methodology, Envita Stories, is rooted in scientific evidence within the framework of person-centred care, digitalization, and narrative care. In 2024, we’re launching an empirical validation of Envita Stories through a clinical trial with more than 300 participants. This pioneering study aims to show how our methodology enhances the well-being of care recipients, professional caregivers and families, fostering the sense of belonging, meaningful connections and personalized care.
